Metcash is the largest independent and wholesale retail partner in Australia and New Zealand in the food, beverage and hardware sectors.
For almost 100 years, Metcash has proudly supported family-owned local businesses – standing up for the underdog and helping them become the best stores in town. Although they may be significant in size, they will always remain local at heart.
The Matkash group is a diverse family, united in the simple idea that it is worth fighting for independence. Its food, beverage and hardware pillars are home to brands you know and love. From IGA and Foodland in Food to Cellarbrations, The Bottle-O and Thirsty Camel in Liquor, the mighty helpful Miter 10, Home Timber & Hardware and Total Tools on its hardware page, Metcash retailers are at the heart of their communities. Behind it, they are all our corporate and support teams, driven by their passion to fulfill Metcash’s goal – to encourage successful freelancers.
The difference you bring is important

“What I like most about Matkash is the culture. It’s a place where you really feel comfortable at work. The results are important but it’s not at the expense of your well-being, so invest a lot of effort to make sure your well-being is a priority. – Lindy Balsa

There are endless options for flexible work arrangements in Matkash
Faced with the desire to maintain their significant role while juggling with family, Nicole Linton and Kim Corbel, both Metcash employees did not want to compromise on job satisfaction. Instead, they entered into a collaboration arrangement in which they shared one full-time role.
Each of them works 3 days a week and alternates their days so the full-time job they share will still be transferred while they are not out of the office.
Nicole and Kim explain in depth all the benefits they and their team get from this arrangement in a podcast episode that you can listen to Here.
When she talked about flexibility in her workplace, Larissa said
“In Metcash it’s just very flexible. As long as we get what we need to do, do, that’s all that matters.
Flexibility is the heart of everything Matkash does, so bring your best selves, and they will make sure you have the support you need to thrive.
