Creating a customised return to work plan: what you can expect from a Career-Mums coaching programme

The Career-Mums team understands the challenges of returning to work after several months or years out of the workplace. One of the most effective and personalized approaches to helping returnees navigate the challenges of entering the workforce is through our Relaunch Your Career coaching program.

What is training?

Our training program is a customized, confidential process to provide you with the customized support, resources and guidance needed to help you achieve your goals. Coaching is a partnership between the dedicated Career-Mums coach and you, the client, focusing on working together to identify goals, overcome barriers and reach the milestones you have set for balancing your employment and future life at work.

The first session focuses on setting and clarifying your goals. We discuss your desired outcomes and create a framework for achieving, effectively and individually re-creating your career. This program is the roadmap for successful re-entry into the full-time, part-time or part-time job. The training is also useful for examining other tracks, such as retraining or self-employment.

Career-motherhood coaching is proactive. Our coaches are certified coaches and working parents. We have all had personal experience of failures so know first hand the challenges you may face. As part of your coaching sessions, we ask strategic questions that will help you identify your short and long term goals and what might be holding you back from success. From this understanding, we provide the subtle challenge needed to help you experience success. We are also here to provide resources and help change your plans to maximize success and progress in working towards your goals.

You will lead the discussions, with our coaches meeting your needs at each session. We understand the concerns and reservations many mothers have about returning to work. We provide the emotional support needed to make decisions that are in your best interest at every step of the way. Think of your coach as your personal guide and cheerleader in your relaunch campaign.

The training program

For your convenience, our training sessions are offered through Zoom. However, we can also adapt to other meeting options. The program includes three one-hour confidential meetings with one of Career-Mum’s skilled, experienced and dedicated coaches.

We offer flexible scheduling times to suit your busy life. Meetings are usually held on a weekly basis, but we also work with clients who request weekly sessions or coaching sessions on a monthly basis – which best suits your circumstances and schedules.

During coaching sessions, you are encouraged to discuss the issues that are most important to you in order to relaunch your career. Our coaches will provide practical resources, insight and support throughout our time together, and will assure you of a well-developed strategy and plan to move forward after each session.

To help you between sessions, your coach will provide a follow-up email summary with the key points of the discussion and a list of agreed actions. This allows you to focus on the training session without trying to take notes or remember strategies and steps in your program.

After each coaching session, our clients come with a clear understanding of the next steps they need to take to re-launch their careers. They are confident in the actions they need to take and have solutions to any obstacle they may encounter.
