Who is Eclipx Group

Eclipx Group is an established leader in the field of vehicle fleet leasing, fleet management and a variety of financial services in Australia and New Zealand. The group assists consumers and businesses of all sizes to access the funds they need to operate through fleet leasing, innovative leasing, car sales, commercial equipment financing and vehicle financing solutions for consumers.

We Talked to Melissa George is an Eclipx Group Employee Experience Leader. It monitors and influences the employee life cycle at every stage, from entry, exit and everything in between. Her favorite part of her job is developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders and ensuring that each employee is positively involved in his or her role, team and business.

While talking to Melissa, she shared experience working with the Eclipx group:

How has Eclipx helped you develop your career?

Having previously worked in the travel sector, I was lucky enough to get a role in Eclipx when she was so affected by the epidemic. ECX helped me develop new P&C skills and nurtured my passion for people and their involvement in the workplace. I’m so glad I was based in the P&C world and I have ECX to thank for that.

How has your career grown since you started Eclipx?

In addition to developing new skills in the P&C field, I was recently fortunate to participate in “multiplier” leadership training, which was conducted under external guidance. This training provided me with new skills and perspectives on leadership that I could utilize to advance.

What is one valuable skill you learned in Eclipx?

Troubleshooting: Quite often during the last 12 months, we have had changes and challenges imposed on us, often at the last minute. However, I have learned to accept these changes and adapt them by thinking outside the box in search of solutions.

What advice would you give others about navigating their careers?

That you own your career and will not be afraid of change. Instead of waiting for the opportunity, try to create one for yourself. Was proactive, unresponsive.

When you think back to when you started Eclipx and where you are now, how have you changed since you started your journey with them?

My growth and change over the last 12 months since joining Eclipx have been exponential. I developed as a person, as a professional and as a leader. I look forward to harnessing these new skills and further enhancing the EXC employee experience as we look to 2022 and beyond.

What makes you proud of working for Eclipx?

I love Eclipx because of how much we care about employees. I saw firsthand how we supported our people through an epidemic, with initiatives like virtual training for those stuck in conflict at home and access to a wonderful EAP service. Nothing in the last year has been easy, but EXC has given their people tools to be at their best.

Talk about their preferred employee benefit (flexible work, discounts, etc.) and how they take advantage of it.

Being a pretty active person and attending the gym, I really struggled last year when Melbourne went into a tight quarantine for almost 4 months. Eclipx gave all employees access to virtual fitness classes during this period. I can honestly say that these classes have helped boost my mood and my motivation through the monotony. It’s also obvious that I’m also very much enjoying the flexible work arrangements we currently have.

What makes Eclipx work special?

We are a medium-sized business on the ASX list, where what you do can really make a difference. There are not many businesses that offer such opportunities.

What does a work-life balance look like for you at Eclipx?

As a mother of two elementary school children, I love that I have the flexibility to be there for them when they need me. In addition, Eclipx really supports parents to be actively involved in their children’s daily lives: whether it’s work from home, pick-up or drop-off from school, or the ability to attend a school event, I always feel supportive in choosing my children first.

What makes you want to do the extra email, above and beyond, in your work at Eclipx?

Business leaders and their vision for the future. There have been so many changes over the last 18 months, and during that time, we have really established such a great culture among our people. I am excited for what the future may bring at ECX, and I have the motivation to work hard for our leaders to help us get there!
