The most frequently asked questions in an interview are fresher by human resources
Tell us about yourself
This is the mandatory question and probably the first question a recruiter may ask you. The purpose of asking this question is to examine the confidence of the candidate in the description itself. You should keep it short and sweet. There is no point in telling stories about yourself but to mention your name, the highest skills and your main goal.
Example: Good morning / noon / good evening sir / mother. My name is Ankita Das. In terms of my education, I graduated with a B.Tech in Computer Science from XYZ University, this year i.e., 2021.
Good morning / noon / good evening sir / mother. My name is Ankita Das. As far as my education is concerned, I did an MBA in Marketing in 2019 from XYZ University.

? What are your strengths?
This is a typical fresh interview question that a recruiter tends to ask to see the area where you are most confident.
Example: I have adaptability so I can easily communicate with groups of people.
I think my greatest strengths are a form of competitive thinking. Because of this, I am able to accept challenges. I stay focused and optimistic even in a stressful environment.
My time management skills are excellent. I believe that time is the most precious gift to mankind and therefore it should be utilized effectively.
Newer interview question: What are your weaknesses?
Usually after asking about your strengths, the recruiter asks you about your weaknesses. Everyone has weaknesses and this question is mostly asked to see your honesty. However, do not go with the flow and end up exposing all your weaknesses. Just keep it straight and your reaction should not make them think you are not suitable for the job.
Example: To be effective, I end up taking more responsibility than I can handle.
I’m a simple person and for some reason I can not refuse if someone asks me for help.
what are your hobbies?
By asking this question, the recruiter actually wants to reveal your identity as an individual. So you need to show enthusiasm that you enjoy life but also reassure the interviewer that your hobbies will not interfere with work.
Example: I love to travel and explore new places. I save some of my salary so I can go on vacation at least once a year.
I love to sing and I am a member of many clubs. In addition, I like to take part in concerts and demonstrate my talent.
Why do you want to work in our company?
This is a way for the recruiter to see how much you know about the company.
Example: I keep your company for a long time and the reviews are quite impressive. I think the high standard of the XYZ company can bring out the best in me.
XYZ is one of the fastest growing companies in India. I think this will be a great workplace for me.
The most common question in a fresh interview: Why should we hire you?
This is the more beloved fresh interview question asked by recruiters. Also, this is the question where most of the candidates are scared and fail to give an appropriate answer. Ironically, this is the easiest to answer. You must analyze the company’s goals and the position for which you are applying. Also remember that you are not a single person who was shortlisted and invited for an interview. So your answer should be such that it sets you apart from the rest and elevates you slightly from the rest. In addition, you can also indicate your academic achievements that may be relevant to the position.
Other than that, most freshmen think they have no work experience and therefore no company would be willing to hire them. Well they want to hire you so they called you for an interview. Just be sure.
Example: Sir / Mother, I believe everyone starts from scratch. I need a platform to prove my skills and expertise.
Sir / Mom, I am fresher and have good theoretical knowledge, but I need a platform to run my knowledge. I am full of enthusiasm and willing to do my best to fulfill all the needs of the company.
Sir / Mother, as you can understand from my resume that I am fresher. However, I was part of many internship programs that made me familiar with the role and hopefully I could learn the job in less time. For this reason, hiring me will be a good added value to your workforce.
What is your expected CTC?
This question is usually asked when the recruiter is sure you will be fit for the job. Do not suddenly say no to a number instead try to show commitment to the job.
Example: I am more interested in the job than the salary. I expect to be paid according to my ability and position in the company.
Sir / Madam, Since I am fresher, salary is not my main goal. I want to learn and gain experience. Since XYZ is one of the most reputable companies in the city, I expect a fair salary.
As you may know sir / mother, I am fresher in this area. So all I expect is a fair salary according to my job role and the norm of the XYZ company.
When can you start?
Although the question of the fresher interview seems like an invitation to join the company. However, this is a way for the recruiter to see if you have any other obligations. You must express your willingness to start soon if you have no other activities that prevent you.
Example: I have no problem starting right away. I have organized my activities so that I will not face any interruption in working in this position.
Having learned about the job role, I am eager to get started soon.
How flexible are you about overtime?
Some companies ask the fresher question of the interview before recruiting. You need to answer this honestly. If you are willing to work overtime. You can then formulate your answer as shown below.
Examples: I understand that in this department it will be necessary from time to time to work overtime. In that case, I’m willing to work overtime.
I believe that when the work is done honestly, then it can be completed within the time period. However, there may be times when I need to work harder and work overtime. I promise you I will do my best.
Where do you see yourself in 3 years?
Recruiters usually ask these kinds of questions to get a better idea of your short-term and long-term goals.
Examples: I believe in myself and I believe I need to be in a position that society will not be willing to lose me.
After 3 years, I expect myself to be an expert in this role.
I think analyzing where I stand in 3 years is too early to conclude. However, I expect the best for me and in relation to this role, I assume I will be responsible enough to take on any managerial responsibility.
Newer interview question: What motivates you?
This is among the question of the fresher interviews that were misinterpreted. You must answer this question based on your life experiences but it should also link to the job you get for the job. For example, if you are applying for a job as a teacher, you can answer as follows.
Example: Well, that question took me back to my school days. I was under the guidance of my favorite teacher. She used to teach everything in a very easy and simple way. I admired her very much and I think she is the main motive behind it.
What are your biggest accomplishments so far?
When a recruiter asks this interview question from you, consider yourself lucky. This is the perfect opportunity to talk about your accomplishments. So be smart enough to mention the ones that are up to date and relevant to the job. Think about accomplishments that you really want to talk about.
Examples: My biggest achievement is completing my master’s degree with 95% and I was among the top 10 students from our university.
I trained UGC NET in 2020 and promised AIR 77.
Do you have any questions with us?
Almost selected for the position. Usually this interview question for fresh is asked at the end. Never say you have no questions even if you are sure of everything. So do a little research on the company in advance and ask related questions. You can also ask about the responsibilities of the job and the next steps or any other query you may think you need to know.
Examples: WHat Does it seem like a typical day for a person in this role?
Thank you for explaining the role to me in great detail. What are the next steps in the recruitment process?
